Saturday Night

It's Saturday night and I'm waiting for my big people brother Tyler to get here. I haven't met him yet, and he's bringing friends with him! I'm so excited because I love to meet new people! Everyone always tells me how cute I am!

I was just playing outside with my Daddy! He started new hours at work and now I get to see him at night! I love my Daddy! He was so surprised to see how fast I can run now in the grass! Mommy says I have two speeds...sleeping and puppy! I really like to run!

Tomorrow I get to see my Aunt Rae again! She is coming over with her friend that I haven't met yet and her friend's grandson that came with us to the Petapalooza! Aunt Rae's friend Brenda is going to love me, too, because everyone does! They are going to do some stuff so I hope I get to go with them! I don't want to stay in my crate if I have to stay home. And I like to go bye-bye in the car!

Mommy did this silly thing today. She cut my toenails! She said she was happy because I'm a baby so she can still use regular people nail clippers and she doesn't have to use those big scary looking doggie clippers. Ursula and Natasha got their toenails cut yesterday and they didn't like it. Natasha was even shaking. I didn't think it was that bad, but I don't know why Mommy did it. I like how they click on the floor when I run through the house!

A big boy!

Hi everybody! Today was another nice day and I got to play in the sand a lot again. I love to run in the sand and dig. It's lots of fun!

My Mommy says I'm getting to be a big boy! I can get up the steps by the deck all the time by myself! Mommy says I must've grown even though she says I still look like a little guy to her! On Monday we're going to see Dr. Mark to get a shot and I'll get weighed then. When I first went to see Dr. Mark I weighed 4.2 pounds! Mommy said she'd see what I weigh at home, but then she would have to get on the scale and she doesn't want to!

Today my big sister Ursula had a bad day. So did my beagle sister Lucy. This morning when my Mommy was getting ready to milk Pop Tart, Ursula and Lucy chased a little kitten that was in the goat pen and it ran out of the pen and they got it. Mommy was very mad and yelled at them and I ran and sat on the porch by my big brother Boz. My big sisters haven't ever really seen kitties before so they didn't know what it was. My Mommy said it was probably a feral cat. I don't know what that means, but she said it still wasn't good for Ursula and Lucy to do that. Then later Mommy got me some chewie sticks. My brother and sisters had these things called bully sticks, but they are too big for me, so I had a chewie stick. Ursula tried to steal it from me when Mommy left the room, and Ursula got into trouble again. See, not a good day for her. She showed Mommy she was sorry, though. She's been good all the rest of the day.

I really like my new chewie sticks! I was so excited when I got one! They are even better than my puppy milk bones! Only one problem...I only have one front leg so it's kinda hard for me to hold it to chew! I worked it out, though. First I tried to curl up and hold it with my back legs! That didn't work too good. I found out that I can just rest it across my good front leg and chew on it and that works ok.

Oh, and today my Mommy and my big people brother Terry had to go shopping so I had to go in my crate. They were gone for a couple hours and I didn't even make pee pee in my crate! I sure had to make a big pee pee when they got home, though, but I made it outside! Mommy said she was very proud of me!

Well, Terry brought some movies home today and Mommy wants to watch one, so it's time to go cuddle in the chair! Good Nite everyone!

The sandlot

My big people brother Terry took Mommy's pool down before I came to live here, so by the deck there is a great big bunch of sand that was under the pool. All the other doggies like to lay in it and play in it, but today I finally went in the sand! It felt kinda funny on my toes. It took me a while, I kinda kept trying to take a step on it, but wasn't sure if I should. It's ok now, though. There is also a sandbox in the yard. It's just a big tractor tire with sand in it, and the sand is coming out the sides underneath the tire. I like to dig in that sand! My Mommy said it's ok as long as I only dig in the sand!

It was such a nice day today! Mommy and I played outside a lot today. I love to run in the grass! I'm doing so good running in the grass with my boo-boo leg! I don't fall on my face as much as I used to, but I still do sometimes! Today while we were outside Mommy let the goats come out. She said Aunt Rae has Mommy's weedwacker, so the goats have to eat the tall weeds. They are more than happy to help! So I got to sniff noses with the goats again! They always come to say hi to me, then they go about their business.

Well, my Mommy said she has to go milk Pop Tart so I have to go outside with her. Terry is going to go outside too and he plays with me all the time! Have a good night everyone!

A good boy!

Mommy said I was such a good boy this morning! She woke up and I was playing with a toy in the bed quietly and didn't make pee pee! I got so happy when I saw Mommy wake up and jumped right on her and she took me right outside to make potty! And when we were outside, my big doggie sister Natasha did a play bow at me! Usually she just ignores me! Then Mommy milked the goat and had some extra milk, so I got to have a little on my breakfast! I love yummy goat milk!

Later on when I woke up from my nap, Mommy picked me up to carry me outside and I accidentally made pee pee all over Mommy. She had to have my big people brother Terry take me outside so she could clean up and change her clothes. I didn't mean to, I just had to go really really bad! Mommy didn't yell at me or anything. She told Daddy what happened and he just said "it'll dry"!

Today my doggie sisters Ursula and Lucy kept barking and I kept getting scared. When I got scared I ran right to Mommy for her to pick me up, then I was ok. Mommy kept telling Ursula and Lucy to stop barking because there wasn't anything there. I guess they bark at nothing a lot. But I'm just a baby, so I don't know if they're barking at nothing or at something scary, so I'll just go on Mommy's lap.

Today Mommy made her dinner and when she was eating, she said "I love squash!" I don't know why. I was squashed once and I didn't like it at all. And I didn't see Mommy get squashed, she was just eating dinner!

Well, Mommy has her jammies on so that means it's time to cuddle in the chair and watch a movie! Good night!

Sniffers!

Mommy said I found my sniffer! Last night and today when we were out in the yard, I found out that there are some smells out there that I can follow, so I did! That was fun! I wonder what they are! My big sister Ursula and beagle sister Lucy said they are stuff like bunny rabbits and squirrels and mice and moles and that we even have these big things that go through the yard called deer! I don't know what any of those are, but I like to sniff them! My big sister, Natasha, said to be careful of the things that are black with a big white stripe. She said they are NOT kitties and that if I try to play with one I'll get all wet and stinky and will have to take lots of baths. I don't want to get that kind of stinky!

This morning Mommy was still sleeping and Daddy had just gotten up to get ready for work, and I didn't want to bother Mommy. Ursula said it was ok if I make pee pee in the bed on Daddy's side. She did it when she was my size and Daddy said "It'll dry"! So Mommy had to do lots of laundry today! She wasn't happy about that (she had all kinds of goat milk in the fridge and had to make lots of cottage cheese and fudge and pudding to use it up, so she was already busy today!) so I guess next time I'll just wake Mommy up! Mommy said it's ok if I wake her up because I'm just a baby and I don't know about holding it yet. I don't know, last time I made pee pee I looked at it and I don't know how I would hold it. I guess I would need a bowl or something.

Well, Ursula and Lucy are outside barking and I want to see what's going on! Have a good night!

What a great day!

I really love my new family! They are so nice to me and always tell me I'm such a good boy! And I get so much love and attention! Last night my big people sister Brooke took me out to potty in the middle of the night so Mommy could sleep, and she stayed up and played with me! And today I got to stay with big people brother Terry and I got to sleep in his bed more and he let me lick a little cheese sauce from his macaroni and cheese off of his finger. It was SO yummy! And he gave me a thing that he said was so I didn't get worms in my heart and that was super yummy, too!

Last night I found my tail and I played with that a lot! It was fun running in circles, but I fall down sometimes. Ok, I fall down a lot, but Mommy says when I grow bigger I'll have more balance! She said I fall down because I'm a puppy and I have this boo-boo leg, too, but I'll get better at running and staying up!

Mommy was singing to me last night, and I really like that. Brooke said that she doesn't like it, but I don't know why! I got excited and put my ears up and wiggled a lot and gave Mommy lots of kisses. I'm not sure who's song it is. First Mommy said it was Dave, then she said it was Matthew. I think Mommy is a little confused about who's song it is, but I won't say anything to her about it. If she wants it to be Dave and Matthew's, that's ok with me. As long as she keeps singing to me, I don't care who's song it is!

Well, Mommy said she has to get her pizza out of the oven and I have to come in the kitchen while she does it so she can keep an eye on me! I don't know why she thinks she needs to watch me all the time. I guess it's because I'm such a cute puppy! But I better go so she can have her pizza! Maybe she'll give me one of my favorite puppy milk bones! YUMMY!

I'm a big boy!

Hi Everyone! Today we didn't do too much. Mommy says she's still tired from the big day yesterday! I did get to play outside a lot, and with my toys! And lots and lots of playing with my sister Ursula! And I got to make big sleepies with Terry in his bed in the basement! I've never been down there before! He has nice comfy blankets that I got to lay on! The other doggies said it's special time to get to go downstairs with Terry, so that was pretty cool! When I was down there my Mommy's favorite thing came on tv and I woke up when I heard it and Terry told Mommy I lifted my ears up! My Mommy loves the thing on the tv with hamsters singing "you can go with this, or you can go with that"! She watches it sometimes 5 or 6 times when it comes on because she loves it, so when I hear it I know what it is!

My big people sister Brooke held me lots today! She wanted me to nap with her or cuddle on the chair, but every time she wanted to do that it was my playtime so I kept trying to bite her in her face! I think that's fun. I don't know why everyone tells me NO when I do it!

My Mommy says I'm a big boy now because I can get all the way up the steps to the deck all by myself almost every time! Sometimes I still miss the second step and roll off. Mommy laughs when I do that, so it's ok.

I'm going to go now and cuddle with my Mommy on the couch. She says she doesn't feel good and wants to relax, so I'm going to give her lots of love so she'll feel all better! Good Nite Everyone!

Petapalooza Day!

Wow! I had SO much fun today! My Mommy and Terry took my Great Dane sister Natasha and me to the Petapalooza thing at a Palace in Auburn Hills! I didn't see a palace, but I saw tents and lots of people and cats and dogs! I got to see the wonderful people at the rescue that saved me where my Mommy got me from! (Remember...Waggs and Wishes!) Especially I got to see Auntie Angie! She's the lady that runs the rescue! And everyone there was SO happy to see me! Everyone kept passing me around and giving me kisses and love and saying "It's Gimpy!" I don't know why because Mommy says my name is Monk, but that's ok because they were all happy when they said it! I was really hoping to see my brothers and sisters from my doggie Mommy, but they all got new forever homes before we we got to the palace that was really just tents! I'm sorry I didn't get to say hi to them, but I'm happy they have homes. I hope they are all as good as my home! Probably not because I have the best home and the best family! All the people there walking around to look at the doggies and kitties stopped to see me because they said I was so cute! My Great Dane sister Natasha had lots of fun, too! She loves to meet new people and doggies and she got to meet lots of them! My Mommy and Daddy adopted her from Great Dane Rescue,Inc. but she's really Terry's doggie. She loves him best of all the family! Terry was walking her around and everyone liked seeing her, too! Some people even asked if she was up for adoption because they wanted to take her home with them! And Natasha got to meet some other Great Danes and that was her favorite part of the day!

I had such a big day, then I was really tired and kept falling asleep with whoever was holding me! And I slept all the way home in the car on Terry's lap! Mommy says that's about an hour, but she stopped a couple places on the way home so it was longer. When I got home Mommy said she was ready for a nap, but I was ready to play and I ran around all over the yard and the house and played with all my toys and my sister Ursula! I ate dinner and played for a couple hours before I was ready for another nap, so Mommy took me to her big comfy bed and we had a nap there. Ursula and my English Mastiff brother, Boz, took a nap with us. I slept right in the middle of them! I love to cuddle with Boz! Mommy says he's like a big teddy bear. I just think he's big and cushy and keeps me safe!

Well, Mommy says I should get off of the computer so we can cuddle in her big chair and watch tv for a little while! Daddy will be home soon, too, and I have to tell him all about my day! Nite nite!

It's HOT today!

Well, Mommy says it's muggy, too. We aren't spending a lot of time playing outside today because Mommy said it's too hot and muggy.

Mommy says that Ursula really plays nice with me all the time! In fact, Ursula wants to just play with me all day long...except when we're taking naps or eating our dinner! She is my very good friend and we have lots of fun! She even played with me a lot when I was up until 2:00 in the morning! Mommy didn't want to play much with me then...I don't know why.

Mommy says one more sleep until we go on our big bye-bye to the Petapalooza thing! It's going to be so much fun! Mommy said we'll probably take my big sister, Natasha, with us too because she doesn't get to do lots of big bye-byes. Terry said Natasha will have fun and she'll get to prance around because she is a princess!

Mommy said that all of us doggies make too much mess and she has to sweep all the time. I think it's fun when Mommy sweeps and I like to try to get the broom. Mommy said a bad word when I got the broom and messed up her pile of stuff, but it's ok because I said I wouldn't tell anyone that she said a bad word so nobody will know! I don't mind when Mommy pushes that big yellow thing that makes lots of noise either. She said it gets all our hair out of the carpeting. I don't see why she just can't leave our hair there. It's not hurting anyone!

Mommy says I'm not afraid of anything except when the big doggies bark loud or I can't find any of my people. Sometimes when I'm taking a nap, Mommy will go in the other room and I wake up and can't find her and I hide under the couch. Well, I only get my head under there. And when the other doggies bark really loud at the window, I run and hide by Mommy. Mommy said I shouldn't worry because when the other doggies bark at the window there's never anything there, anyway.

Well, I'm going to go and play with my Mommy for a little while before my next nap time!

A Fun Day!

Today I got to go to the city and go to the big doggie toy store! That was lots of fun! I got new puppy toys and I really like to play with them! And I got to meet new people and everyone said I am so cute! And they all said AWWW about my boo-boo leg. Then we stopped at a thing called a garage sale. There were lots of people there that said I am so cute, too! I was a very good boy going bye bye in the car!

Mommy said that in a couple more sleeps we're going on a really big bye-bye! It's a thing called Petapalooza at a place called the Palace! It must be a really cool thing if it's in a Palace! Mommy said that the people at the rescue that got me from my first home will be there and it will be fun! I hope my doggie brothers and sisters are there so I can visit, but my Mommy said she doesn't know. Mommy wanted to bring Boz too, but she said she probably won't. The rescue where Mommy and Daddy got Boz will be there, too (Great Lakes Mastiff Rescue), but Mommy said that it would be too much of a day for Boz. I guess Boz is an old guy, and he doesn't like to walk too much because he gets tired, and that would be lots of walking for him. He said the walks in the woods in our backyard are just enough for him. Mommy said she has pictures on her phone of him though, so they can see how he is doing.

My Mommy said I'm a very smart puppy! I know my name, and I know "come" already! And, I know "give me kisses" and my Mommy said she likes that one best because I give her kisses and she gets lots of puppy breath! My Mommy said that someone should make a candle that smells like puppy breath. I know, my Mommy is a weirdo!

I got to play outside some today, but not tonight because it's raining outside. It's ucky to go out to potty in the rain.

Mommy got some new pictures of me today, and she got some video of me playing with Ursula. Mommy said she put it on you tube, but doesn't know when it will be ready. Probably soon. Tomorrow I'll post a link to it. If it's ready tonight, Mommy said she'll put it on her Facebook.

Well, I'm going to go and play with my new toys before Mommy says it's bedtime!

What am I?

Hi! Today my Mommy was trying to figure out what kind of doggies I am. From looking at pictures of other puppies on the internet, and looking at pictures of my doggie mommy, she thinks there might be Jack Russell and maybe a little Pit Bull, but there is probably other kinds of doggies too. My Aunt Rae thinks that my doggie Mommy looks like she might have a little hound dog in her too! That would be cool because there is a really big song about a hound dog! We don't know who my doggie daddy was, so that doesn't help. Dr. Mark said that when I get bigger it might be easier to tell what kinds of doggies I am. If you want to see my doggie Mommy and my brothers and sisters, they are on a thing called Facebook! Mommy says to search for Waggs and Wishes and you can look at all the pictures. The one's of me and my doggie mommy and brothers and sisters are under Momma Pit and Puppies. If you "like" Waggs and Wishes rescue (I don't know why you wouldn't) you can leave comments. And, right on the front there is a picture of a little tiny baby puppy that is just 3 days old and is sick and needs donations so she can go to the doctor and get better and maybe you can help a little bit!

I also learned my name! Whenever my Mommy or anyone says my name, I look right at them! I like it when someone says my name because that means that they want to talk to me or to pet me or to hold me!

My Mommy said she's going to try to get some video on her phone thingie of my sister Ursula and me playing. When we play everyone smiles and laughs and says it's so cute! Ursula is a big doggie (she's the one that's doggie mommy is a great dane and her doggie daddy is a bull mastiff) but Mommy says she is gentle with me and plays nice. She always bumps me with her nose when she plays with me. I like to jump at her and do my little puppy bark! I like to pull on her tail, too! She doesn't like that, but she just moves away. I tried to pull on Boz's tail, too and he did the same thing. I don't know why they don't like it. I think it's fun!

I'm going to go now because my Mommy says it's time to milk the goat. I like it when it's goat time because I get to play outside with Ursula. Sometimes I just play in the grass by myself and Ursula lays near me and watches me. My Mommy says Ursula is a good babysitter for me while she's taking care of the goat! She says when Ursula plays with me, then I don't attack Mommy's feet! So we have to go outside now! Bye!

My poor sister!

Hi! Today I got to meet the goats! I got to meet one named Nesquik, one named Two Percent, one named Pop Tart, and one named Journey. There are two more, but they are not very social! I got to sniff noses with all four and that was fun for me! I wasn't even scared at all!

Today I had to spend some time in my crate because Mommy had to leave me at home. It was ok, I was sleeping! Mommy had to take my beagle sister Lucy to see Dr. Mark. She wasn't eating and not moving around a lot and Mommy and Daddy were worried, and Mommy thought it was best if I didn't go to the doctor with Lucy even though I would've liked to visit. Lucy is ok. She has a little boo-boo in her back, nothing serious. She got some medicine and is feeling a lot better. Acting kinda weird, though. She keeps singing this weird song...sounds something like "in-a-godda-da-vida". I don't know what that means, but Lucy seems to be feeling better and in a better mood!

My big sister Ursula has been playing with me a lot. She bumps me with her nose and then I jump at her. It's a fun game! And I got to play outside even more today! I like to play outside in the sun! And I love to play with my little giraffe toy...it's my favorite! My mommy said that one day we're going to go to the city that has a big store that's all just for pets and she's going to get me even more toys because I'm such a good boy all the time! And she said I could even go to this store! I can't wait!

Well, it's pretty late and I should go to bed and get some sleep before Daddy gets home from work. Mommy said he's working something called "afternoons" so he's gone all during the day right now, and I like to see him when he gets home at night, so I'd better rest up so I'll be all full of energy when he gets here!

Big day at the doctor

Today my Mommy and Terry took me to the new doctor to have a check-up and look at my boo-boo leg. I don't remember much of it because I slept through pretty much the whole visit! Dr. Mark said that my leg will probably have to be amputated in a month or two when I'm big enough to have the sleepy medicine for surgery. He said we could watch it but because nothing was done with it when it first got the boo-boo that it kinda healed the way it is, and the bones in my leg will still grow as I grow and it might hurt me or cause other problems when I get older, so my Mommy and Dr. Mark think it's probably a good idea to just take care of it while I'm still a baby. I thought Mommy said I'll always be a baby. Dr. Mark said that other than that I am a very healthy little boy! After the doctor we went to this big store called Walmart and Mommy got me lots of new puppy toys. She got my brother and sisters a new toy too. She said if she didn't they would be mad at her! Someone at the Walmart place told me that I was lucky because a lot of people only want to adopt a "perfect" puppy. I still don't understand when people say that because my Mommy says I am perfect!

Mommy said I slept really good last night and that I let her get lots of sleep. I don't know what I have to do with her sleeping. I would show her all my potty spots when she got up in the morning, and if I wanted to play I'm sure I could amuse myself! But, Mommy said she'll get up with me in the night and take me outside to potty. She said I only got up every few hours, and that was good! And only one time did I want to have play time after potty time! It's easy to sleep lots because Mommy lets me sleep in her big comfy bed! I even got to sleep on Daddy's pillow, right by his head! That's because Daddy is a "hard-ass".

Nighty Nite!

Today was my very first WHOLE day at my new forever home! There are lots and lots of fun toys here and Mommy says we're going to get more tomorrow after we go to the new doctor! I got to play outside in the grass and I'm getting really good and running through it without falling on my face! And I'm so comfortable here that Mommy has to really keep an eye on me because I'll go all over the house now by myself! Mommy said something about a thing called a gate. I don't know what that is, but I bet I won't like it!

I took a couple of big naps today and lots of little bitty naps, but I played so much with all the toys and my new brother and sisters and Terry and Mommy that I'm ready for bed! Mommy said she hopes I sleep longer than last night, and I bet I will because I made lots of big sleeps yesterday...way more than today! So I wanted to tell everyone nighty-nite! I'll make another post tomorrow after the doctor tells Mommy what he thinks about my boo-boo leg!

Hi! My name is Monk!

Hi! My name is Monk. My mommy says I'm a mutt, but that's pretty cool because there's a big-time music producer guy who's a Mutt, too! I came to my forever home yesterday from a really good shelter called Waggs and Wishes in Ferndale, MI. They have a website www.waggsandwishes.org if you want to make a donation or help out or even adopt someone special!

My mommy says I'm special. She says it's because I'm such a sweet guy and a really good boy already at just 7 weeks old! Some people say it's because I have a boo-boo leg. My first owner stepped on my front right leg when I was really little. It was broken in 3 places, but nobody took me to the doctor to get it fixed. My mommy says we're going to go to a new doctor tomorrow to see what he has to say about it. She doesn't know if it can be fixed or if it's ok to leave it like it is or if they'll have to amputate it. That's a big word for me, I guess it means I'll only have 3 legs, but that'll be ok too. My new daddy told my mommy that they could adopt me because he is worried about my leg and that it might be hard to find a family that would love me because of it. I don't know about that, but I don't have to worry at all because I have a really awesome new family! I have my mommy that stayed up with me most of the night last night. And a new daddy who says he's a "hard-ass". I learned how to spell hard-ass. It's spelled S-U-C-K-E-R! I have a big people brother named Terry that let me sleep on him today, and I have more people family that I haven't met yet...Jacob, Brooke, Amanda and Alex, and Tyler. And of course my Aunt Rae! If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have my new forever home!

The rest of my family is really awesome, too! I have a big sister that is a Great Dane named Natasha, another big sister that is a Great Dane/Bull Mastiff mix named Ursula, and a beagle sister named Lucy. My favorite, though, is my big brother. He's an English Mastiff named Boz. He's really big, 227 lbs, and he lets me climb all over him! We have these weird things out behind a fence in the yard, too. Mommy says they're called goats. I've never seen one before, but they're ok.

I met my mommy at the shelter because Aunt Rae gave them a stray kitty that was going to have little baby kitties. My mommy and Aunt Rae went to the shelter to give them some kitty food, and that's when Mommy met me! She named me Monk because there was a lady she knew when she was growing up that had a boo-boo arm like mine and her last name was Monks. But you know what? I don't even notice my boo-boo! I still run all around and play and cuddle just fine!

I hope you'll read my blog that I'm writing about how my boo-boo leg is doing and about all the new things I learn and the fun I have at my new forever home! My mommy said she'd post pictures of me as I grow, too!
